Hardwood Floors
04/10/2009: Kevin from Atlanta, Ga writes: "re: recycled and reclaimed wood floors. There are many wood floors to choose from out there, but I angle towards some environmentally friendly and responsible options. I have used a company, Mohawk, in the past and they have some great choices. Mohawk GreenWorks hardwood floors include salvaged wood from sites under going demolition. This company collects wood and creates engineered wood floors. These floors look great and perform well and they give new purpose to building material heading for the land fill. Mohawk has also lessened its eco impact during manufacturing by rethinking how the engineered products are created. They use a process they call Purebond, that reduces harmful chemicals like formaldehyde needed to manufacture the final product.
I like the product and the efforts to keep our planet around for my kids. So if you're looking to have some new floors put in, try looking for an old floor 1st.
